Timmy is so excited about Christmas this year. He told us several months ago that he has never had a gift when he was living in Dalian. He told me just this week that he got in trouble at school one day because he took someone's food. I said why did you take the food? He said his Chinese mama never gave him money to have a snack at school and he was hungry. He did have a tree at the orphanage two times he said a man came dressed up like Santa and gave all the kids candy.
Last night Duane brought home our tree. We were getting it out of the box and he was so excited about it. We were getting a 7 foot tree, according to the box. I think we have false advertising when the tree is closer to 6'3" as measured by my hubby's height, and there is one branch sticking up about 9 inches now that makes it 7 feet or is it just the one branch? We will keep it anyway.
This morning Timmy was out of bed and ran to look at it, and wanted it plugged in, and just sat there on the couch looking at it in awe. Later before leaving for school, he said, "Mommy we need to unplug tree not enough batteries for later". He was worried that the tree lights would go out and he was trying to conserve the batteries! That made me sad to know that he was worried about the lights. He was happy when I told him it was plugged in and would not go out.
Several weeks ago he asked me "Mommy why we brush teeth in America"?
So we don't have to go to the dentist and get our tooth pulled like you did Timmy. :-) Which reminded me when he went to the dentist the first time. He said, "No dentist in Dalian, why we go to dentist"?
This Christmas season I am reminded of the many blessings, the little blessings, like Christmas trees with plug in lights, gifts, toothbrushes, and dentists. Oh, the important things he has taught me about life, I have learned about life thru his eyes.

you so right we should think of all the blessings this holiday-I wish I could share this holiday wth MJ. It is my favorite. But I know if ever was a place to be during our celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ it would be in Heaven were MJ is now! Love to you my sister in Christ!
I hope you have a very blessed Christmas with Timmy. :-)
